ABOUT US

aboutus

With over 50 years of experience in orcharding, we are among the first to provide premium, new season fruit to all New Zealanders every year. We have been producing apples since the mid 1900's and continue to deliver quality fresh fruit to the leading markets throughout New Zealand. In the 1980's, we started with kiwifruit as one of the first growers in the region. In more recent years we've increased our range and now also grow pears, oranges, mandarins, peaches, nectarines and apricots.

OURPLACE

Out here on the most eastern tip of New Zealand's North Island, the Gisborne district is known as one of the sunniest places in New Zealand, with a yearly average of over 2200 hours of sunshine. The Maori name used to describe the district is Tairiwhiti, meaning 'The tides that are shone upon'.

Protected by the hills and mountain ranges of the East Cape, Gisborne revels in a sub-tropical climate which provides an ultimate growing environment. Our region hosts plenty of orchards and vineyards, producing an abundance of fruit, and a wide variety of vegetables including tomatoes, sweet corn, squash and leafy greens of every type. Poverty Bay is recognised as being the country's top producer of citrus and also New Zealand's third largest producer of wine.

SEASONALWORK

The harvest is our busiest time of the year and runs from January through till April. During these months, there are opportunities for pickers, tractor/forklift drivers, grading and packing work.

There is pruning and thinning work available again in the spring.
